Styled by the award winning Vert Design Studio, striking classic looks actually enhance performance while accentuating the natural beauty of the saxophone. Every curve bolsters an acoustic function, creating an accessory that truly sounds as good as it looks.
A New Sound
The Hyperion Mouthpiece has the heart (literally) of the iconic mid-century jazz sound. Micro CT scanning recreates the exact resonant core a 1950s Brilhart, sculpted into an stylish updated form. Sculpted from biocompatible resin, the Hyperion mouthpiece sings and rings with a resonant balance of the harmonic spectrum: Deep lows, clear mids, and warm upper colors. Each mouthpiece is hand faced to GS mouthpieces’ exact specification, ensuring a responsive, singing tone. The white performance resin is not exudes classic beauty, but is more durable than traditional hard rubber.
How Hyperion Came Into Being.
Founded by award winning designer Andrew Simpson (Vert Design Studio) and saxophonist Dr. Wally Wallace (The Saxophone Academy), Hyperion was created to design high performance tools for the modern virtuoso. Sharing a love of mid-century design and space age optimism, Andrew and Wally sought to develop saxophone products that encouraged the art of practice, while enhancing the natural beauty of the instrument.
